I’ve been neglecting this blog for quite a while and I feel terribly bad about it. Eventhough there’s a few happening in my life right now as a mom that I think is worth blogging, but my brain couldn’t simply get the focus that it needs to be able to sit down and ~~write~~ type down everything.

Before the beginning of the 2012,I actually made a good plan for this blog, to use it to give a parenting advice,or household tips that I think might be able to help others, but then I realized, I’m not a perfect mom, so I don’t think I’d be able to advice other mom how to be one either.Every child is different, so as parenting. Things that worked with my kids doesn’t mean will work with theirs,so I guess I’ll leave things as it is. To keep my parenting advice to myself and hopefully, to be able to improved it.

As for household tips, I’m not actually the one who does the chores around here, so what’s the use?I know a blogger who can give you the best advice how to do everything around the house, until I realized it’s her maid that do everything, so basically, she just blog down the things that she want her maid to do, which I’m sure its not really a bad thing, but I’m just saying…..

Anyway, I think I’ll keep this blog the way it used to be. To use it to document my life as a mom and nothing else. Yes, a few paid post here and there, but other than that,I’ll bring back this blog to what it’s made for.

Kendrick’s 500 pcs Puzzle

Kendrick got this puzzle back in August, as a birthday gift. He wasn’t able to spend much time solving it back then since we were staying at a friends house and there’s not much space in the bedroom.Then,three or two weeks ago, he started taking it out of the box and spread it all over our bedroom floor.He spent every afternoon, after school putting each pieces one by one,but he did it without any pressure, he will stop whenever he feels like,then work again if he wanted too. Then last night, finally he put the last piece and he was so proud of himself because he finished the whole puzzle all by himself, without any help from his big brother and cousins.

Solving this puzzle showed a lot about his personality, how much patient and goal oriented he is and his focus is surely undeniable.I’m so proud of him and guess what,he’s asking me to buy him an apple ipod shuffle as a prize,in which I replied, he need to accomplish something more than the puzzle before I get him that, lol!

A Healthy Baby Starts With A Healthy Mother

When you find out you’re pregnant, your world changes. Suddenly, everything you do, eat or plan carries with it the concern for how it will affect your child. You’ll learn about ways to help protect your baby’s health with things such as folic acid supplements to prevent neural tube defects, prenatal tests to look for fetal complications and cord blood banking, that willstore your newborn’s cord blood,as a medical resource for your family and can be usedto potentially treat life-threatening diseases down the road. However, one of the best ways to have a healthy baby is to keep you healthy. Here are tips:

Diet
It’s true you’ll be eating for two, but that it doesn’t mean double your caloric intake and eat whatever you want. Instead, use your pregnancy as a time to focus on your nutrition Are you getting enough fruits and vegetables? Is your diet light on fat and high on whole grains? Make sure you get enough iron so you don’t become anemic. Keep your bones strong by drinking milk and eating calcium-rich foods. Limit refined sugars to avoid the potential for gestational diabetes.

Exercise
If you’ve always been a fitness fan, keep up the good work and stay active, just be sure to ask your doctor about modifications you should make to your routine. If you don’t usually exercise, now is the time to begin. Start with something easy and that is considered low-impact, such as walking or swimming. Exercising will increase muscle tone, build your stamina and begin a habit you can continue after childbirth.

Hydration
Drinking plenty of water is important whether you are pregnant or not. It helps regulate your digestive system and keeps you hydrated. Water is also much healthier than alternatives such as sodas or teas, which can be high in sugar, caffeine, or other chemicals. These drinks can actually cause dehydration and shouldn’t be counted in your daily fluid intake. Tracking your daily intake can help ensure you’re getting enough H2O for you and baby.

Sleep
Make sure you get about eight hours of sleep a night. Good sleep fosters good health; it allows your body to rejuvenate for the next day. Make a habit of going to bed around the same time every night so you wake up rested. While pregnant, lie on your side to keep the baby’s weight from putting pressure on your back or blood vessels in your legs.

Overall health
Keeping yourself healthy not only promotes your own health, it can prevent certain complications for your baby and promote a healthy delivery and success in the first days of your child’s life. According to theNational Institutes of Health, a healthy weight, diet, exercise regime and other lifestyle decisions help both the mother and fetus.

Mother’s Day Treat?

I’m fully aware that Mother’s Day is still few months away, at least 4 months to be exact. But my cousin and I,together with my sisters,all of us are mom, are already planning on what we gonna do on Mother’s Day and my niece, a young mom as well, told us about the latest Spa Salon in town. My youngest sister had been there and she gave us a good review of the place,specially the food.That’s why we are talking about it as early as now so we have time to save up for money that we need.

I’m quite excited with the plan and I hope it’ll push thru because I’ve never been in a spa before, and I don’t even know how a spa covers look like,if anything,it’s gonna be my first time.Ken and I planned of going before back in Canada, but we just forget about it.I know this is going to be fun because it’s only us,Mommies! :)

I’m so fed up with my laptop because it’s just too darn slow. Thanks to my sister,who,sometimes,let me used hers,otherwise,I wouldn’t be able to finish all my work. I’ve been thinking, not only to upgrade it but to give it a whole new makeover,specially the motherboard. I went to the computer shop the other day and canvass for a cheap motherboards and hopefully,I’ll be able to replace mine sooner than later.

Flowers For Mommy

Valentines Day is only less than a month and just like Mother’s day, it’s another occasion that makes me excited about. Hubby already mentioned last time we talk that he will Send Flowers to me but he needed to know for sure to find a shop that do international delivery.Although I told him he doesn’t need to do that. We both knew that I’m not really into any cheesy things unless it’s from the boys of course. :)

Allergy No More

If there’s another thing that I’m so thankful while we are here staying in Manila is that,regardless of how polluted it is, my boys are not having any problems with their allergy. Back in Canada, although Spring season is our favorite weather, it is also a pain for us because of hay fever allergy. The tropical weather here in Manila, which is almost like Spring,on the other hand is somewhat ok with my boys and,Thank GOD that since day one, they never get sick at all.Even my friend,who live in Texas and one of austin allergist told me that maybe,because of the humid. Now that I think of it,I also remember that back in 2007 even Kendrick’s skin allergy was instantly disappear and two days after we got back to Canada, it stated showing up again. It must be the weather indeed!
