Inspiring My Children To Learn
School is finally over, but it doesn’t mean that learning new things for my boys are also over. I make it sure that our goal everyday is to learn new things, big or small.
I am happy to say that both of my boys develop the love for learning at an early ages. I started reading them books the minute I found out I was pregnant and with their age right now,9 & 5, we still read every night as a part of our bedtime ritual. But reading is not our only ways of discovering new things. I always take every opportunity to explain them things that surround us everyday. Now, my eldest is into postcard collection and he is always excited to learned things from other country. I keep inspiring them to learn each day by telling them that having a vast knowledge will be their key to success in the future, just like what my mom used to say, “Knowledge is the only treasure that you can keep forever and no one could take it away from you”.
Now, I am glad that there is a company likes Intel that encourage students to learn more beyond what was taught in school. They have the on going contest asking students, What Inspires You To Learn?
If I have to answer this question, I will have to say,it is because of my lifelong dream. Being born and raised in a 3rd world country,Philippines, from a poor family, I knew immediately that there is no other way for me to get out of that situation unless I will finish a degree and that dream became my goal and inspiration until I graduated from a university with a degree in Computer Engineering.
But anyway, moving on with the contest, the winner will receives a laptop with Intel 2nd Generation Core i5 technology for themselves, plus a Sony Internet TV for their school. How cool is that?
Here’s the contest information:

You are doing great work keeping kids busy learning new things. We all can learn each and every day. The opportunity is there if we take it.
