PBW#9:Art Gallery

We feel so blessed that we live in one of the most historic little town in Ontario.There are so many interesting place to see and fortunately, we live in a down town area where almost everything is only a walking distance from away from our apartment. Gibson Art Gallery is one of those, it is literally on the way going to school and I’ve been so dying to visit the place whenever they put the ads on local papers about some exhibit that’s going on, but for some reason because I’m so lazy busy I can’t find time to do it.Last Friday, while on the way to pick-up Patrick from school, Kendrick and I decided to stop by because I saw the open flag flying and I thought to check it out, too bad there’s no exhibit on scheduled until next week but nonetheless, we both enjoy our little side trip and I manage to snap a few pictures;

The staff was so nice to lead us to the Caboose and let Kendrick put on the conductor’s hat, he like it a lot :)

By the way, here’s a few info I quoted from their website,The Gibson Gallery,

” The Gibson Gallery is located in South Western Ontario’s Historic Town of Amherstburg along the beautiful Detroit River. The former Michigan Central Railroad Station, built in 1896, is a “state of the art” Art Gallery featuring towering ceilings hardwood floors, showroom track lighting and a climate control system. A full season of exhibits by local artists, arts and crafts lessons for children and adults, and three needle art guilds make this 112 year old building a vital center for the visual arts. Our designated historic building is renovated to its original Romanesque glory and the attached Caboose museum highligths local railroad history.The Gibson Gallery is owned and operated by the Fort Malden Guild of Arts and Crafts, a non-profit charitable organization. Art by the River, which began in 1967 has developed into the Guild’s main fundraiser. Art bythe River,Essex County’s oldest and largest arts & craft festival is held annually on the grounds of Fort Malden National Historic Site on the weekend before Labour Day Weekend”
