Moms Fight The Flu

As the winter weather is fast approaching and also the flu that comes with it, I have to be ready for my family. I don't know but for some reason it becomes a moms job :D . Anyway, between my two boys, it is Patrick, my eldest who usually got sick during flu season, aside from his regular 3-day sickness whenever the weather change and looks like he get used to it. But now, with H1N1 or Swine flu going around, we need to be extra careful than our usual routine during flu season.Here's some new activity in our family since this H1N1 saga begin.

• We now have a hand sanitizer around the house.
• My kids now are taking extra vitamin c.
• Washing hands is now a mandatory rather than just because i said so.
  
• Everyday when they got home from school, I have to ask them if any of their classmate is sick for whatever reason.
  

We are really blessed that we live in a country where the government is doing everything just to help each family to get thru with this predicament. The Ministry of Health in Ontario have all the useful tools to inform and let all the family get involved. If you live in Canada and looking for a place where to get the vaccine, you might want to check this out, it's the list of Vaccination Clinics all over the province where you can go to get the shot. And I know as a parents, we always want to be on top of everything especially about our kids health.If your kids got sick, don't panic. It is much better to check first if your kids really need a serious medical attention. The Ministry Of Health posted Influenza Self-Assessment Tool , with a very helpful tips and lots of information but you have to keep in mind that everything you can read there is just to guide you. You still have to follow your mother's instinct. Remember the saying, and it's always true, "MOMMY KNOWS BEST" .
