It's chore time at Mommy Moments. We are trying to teach our boys the importance of responsibility. That's why as early as 2 years old, we already gave them a regular household chores that is age appropriate like picking up their toys and put it in a toy basket, turn off the tv if no one is watching just to name a few. I read somewhere that letting our kids help do chores around the house will help them build a high self-esteem. And if you let them help you prepare food in the kitchen, like cutting veggies (btw, my boys use those plastic knife) for example, there's a big chance that they will enjoy eating it. Patrick already passed the stage where he enjoy helping me while Kendrick is still love to be around the kitchen whenever I'm busy, asking all the questions he can think of.One of his favorite thing to do is to help measuring the rice whenever it's time for me to cook it. It takes him forever to fill the small cup I used to measure it then pour it in our little sauce pan, but it's ok, Mommy have all the time in the world, no hurry. Here he is doing just that.
And I'm sorry but you have to bear with me because I think watching a little american boy trying to cook rice is one of the cutest thing in the world. :D
Another thing he love to do is mixing egg. I bought him a little egg beater just for him to use whenever he wants to eat scrambled egg, the one he's using here is mine, :)

Couple of days ago, Kendrick told me he want to go to a cooking school so he can be a chef (he said it exactly the way it is), then will make an Apple pie for mommy. :)
How about your kids? What is their usual household chores?
